Celebrate World Children’s Day and Empower Young Minds for a Sustainable Future
As a parent, mentor or a teacher you’re always looking for ways to help children grow, feel safe, and become a kind, confident person. But here’s a powerful question to ask:
Does your child know they have rights?
- The right to learn
- The right to express their ideas
- The right to clean water, a safe home — and a healthy planet
- … and much more
Every year on November 20, World Children’s Day marks the anniversary of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC). It’s a moment to celebrate childhood, amplify children’s voices, and teach them how to participate in shaping a better world.
At AMALY KidsClub, we believe that learning about rights goes hand-in-hand with building a strong sense of identity and values — a pillar of our educational program.
Because when children know their rights, they grow with empathy, responsibility, and a deeper understanding of how to care for themselves, for others and for the planet.
New Rights for a Changing World
Breaking: New rights since 2023 aligned with AMALY KidsClub’s mission and DNA!
According to the United Nations Committee on the Rights of the Child, all children now have the explicit right to live in a clean, healthy, and sustainable environment — as clarified in the new General Comment No. 26.
This includes:
- Breathing clean air
- Drinking safe water
- Living free from pollution
- Learning how to protect nature
- Being part of decisions that affect their future
These are not just dreams. These are rights.
And children can be leaders, innovators, and problem-solvers — when we give them the space to express themselves and act.
Tip: Teaching your child to care for the environment is also teaching them to protect their rights — and the rights of others.
How to Celebrate World Children’s Day (At Home, at School, or Anywhere)
Here are some easy and meaningful ways to make this special day come alive with your child:
1. Talk About Their Rights
Start a warm, child-friendly conversation:
“Do you know that children all over the world have special rights?”
Use simple examples from daily life:
- A book = the right to learn
- A clean garden = the right to a healthy environment
- A family = the right to love and protection
Tip: You can read the illustrated, child-friendly version of the CRC together (see link below).
2. Draw What Rights Look Like
Invite your child to draw a picture of what these rights mean to them.
Some ideas:
- A classroom = the right to education
- A river and trees = the right to a clean and healthy environment
- A home with hugs = the right to love and protection
3. Watch and Reflect Together
UNICEF has created a kids-friendly, engaging video to explain children’s rights.
Watch it together and talk about what your child found surprising or inspiring. (See link below!)
Every Day Is Children’s Day
At AMALY KidsClub, we believe every day should be World Children’s Day.
When children feel heard, respected, and included, they are more likely to:
- Help others
- Speak up for fairness
- Care for nature and our planet
- Become the leaders and problem-solvers our world needs.

Final Thought
Let’s raise a generation of children who know their rights — and use them to make the world greener, fairer, and more compassionate for everyone.
Because when children know they matter, they help the planet thrive.
